A few years ago, after my husband had travelled abroad, he returned home bearing gifts from exotic destinations.
Amongst those, and clearly my favourite, was one of the most beautiful and exotic gifts I have ever received,
perfume oils.

After experiencing the beauty and richness of these exotic perfumes, I could no longer go back to the regular alcohol based perfumes.

In ancient times these perfumes were reserved only for royalty and the wealthy affluent members of society.

Today this is still the case with expensive "parfums", which is what oil based perfumes are equivalent to.

Realising that these most precious perfumes were not readily availble to most people, and out of pure indulgance, essentially you was formed.
